Travel

No matter how you slice it, this will be a two-leg journey for most. First you need to get to Costa Rica. Then you need to travel to Santa Teresa Beach.

Please read the information below carefully before booking anything, and don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions!

Flying to Costa Rica

Choose between two international airports in Costa Rica:

1. San José (SJO)

2. Liberia (LIR)

***Please be careful to pick the right airports, as our wedding festivities are neither in California, nor in West Africa.***

Direct flights are available to both airports from cities like NYC, Houston, LAX, Atlanta, Miami, Amsterdam, Madrid, and more.

Tips:

Fly to SJO if you can, as there are more frequent flights from SJO to the local airport in Santa Teresa (14 daily non-stop) compared to LIR (3 daily non-stop).

Aim to land in Costa Rica early in the day, as evening travel to Santa Teresa is limited.

For departure, book late (evening or night) flights from SJO or LIR to give yourself time to get from Santa Teresa to either international airport.

Getting to Santa Teresa

Upon landing in Costa Rica, you have two options:

Fly 25 scenic minutes to Cobano Airport (COB), followed by a 20-minute taxi ride.

Drive 4-6 bumpy (but also somewhat scenic) hours through the jungle.

Tips:

Opt for the flight if possible, for convenience. If you miss your connection, consider staying overnight and flying in the morning.

If you decide to drive, you can book a private shuttle in advance through this service.

Flights from both SJO and LIR are available via Sansa Airlines and Costa Rica Green Airways (~$100-150 one-way).
